I’m Patrick Finnigan, owner of Finnigan Precision in the Flagstaff area. I didn’t grow up in a gunsmith shop. I started in 2005 by taking apart my own firearms, making small improvements, and helping friends figure out why their rifles weren’t running right. What began as a hobby turned into a real craft. I taught myself machining on a mill and lathe, learned headspacing, barrel work, pin installation, gas port drilling, and every other part of building and modernizing AKs and AR platforms. Today my focus is simple: one-of-a-kind custom rifles. I specialize in AK builds (from parts kits or customer guns), .308 platforms (Armalite and DPMS patterns), and AR-15s in standard or custom calibers like 300 Blackout and 6.5. I work by appointment only. Every rifle is test-fired here for function and accuracy — out to 1,000 yards on our range in the nearby Coconino National Forest. I take pride in turning parts into reliable, accurate, good-looking rifles that the owner actually enjoys shooting. I’m not here to judge anyone’s skill level. Whether you have a clear idea of what you want or just know your current rifle isn’t quite right, I’m happy to listen, diagnose, repair, upgrade, or build something new from the ground up.
